The Apprenticeship program is an industry-driven\, high-quality career pathway\, where employers can develop\, and prepare their future workforce; and employees can obtain paid on-the-job (OJT) work experience\, classroom instruction\, and earn a nationally recognized credential.    \nGovernment Business Development Apprentices assist government contractors in all aspects of winning business and achieving higher bid\, capture\, and win rates.   \nThis program combines knowledge across the entire business development spectrum\, from market analysis and pipeline development to capture and proposal development.   \nWe train Government Business Development Specialists to research the market to identify prospective customers for the company. Apprentices will learn identify opportunities for the pipeline. They interface with the Government to verify these opportunities. Apprentices will be able to participate in the opportunity review process to evaluate\, and qualify opportunities for capture. They will be able to prioritize specific opportunities in support of the broader company strategy.   \nApprentices train on how to conduct capture that includes customer engagement\, opportunity intelligence gathering\, win strategy development\, competitive analysis\, teaming\, and solution development. They will develop the skills required to respond to Requests for Information\, and write Sources Sought\, white papers\, point papers\, and other marketing documents.  \nThey can participate in the bid-no-bid decision process. With the VA reimbursements\, the costs will be covered in full or partially during the course of the program. In addition\, Apprentices earn salary increases through the program. There are 2 ways to pay for tuition:  \n\nEmployer pays for the tuition\, and receives reimbursement from the Veteran. \nVeteran pays for the tuition\, and receives reimbursement each month from the VA. \n\nThe VA issues payments to the Veteran each month after receiving a report on their hours. The VA reimburses Veterans at a rate of 100% for the first 6 months of the program\, and then at a rate of 80% for the second six months\, at the point when the Veteran’s salary increases.    \nFor example\, if a Veteran is eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill under Chapter 33\, in addition to a wage increase\, the Veteran will also get reimbursement for the Apprenticeship program from the VA. The final amount of reimbursement will vary case by case depending on the Veteran’s VA educational benefits.  \n			\n						Schedule a Call with a Representative\n					 \nThe Enrollment Process\nOST will guide the Veteran step-by-step through the program. The first step in the process is getting a Certificate of Eligibility from the VA\, and providing it to OST. The Veteran/Apprentice must submit an application for educational benefits to the VA so that they may determine eligibility to receive educational benefits. Veterans can apply online. See the VA link to learn more about how to apply for educational benefits.     \nWhen the Veteran provides the Certificate\, OST will manage the other forms including a Monthly Certification of On-the-Job and Apprenticeship Training as the Veteran completes the training throughout the year.     \nThe Apprenticeship duration is 1-year. Once the training is complete\, the Department of Labor will issue a certificate of Government Business Development Specialist.   \nThen the Veteran will need to complete the VA Form 22-1999 Instructions and Certifications for VA Enrollment Certification and a VA Form 22-8864 Training Agreement for Apprenticeship and Other On-The-Job Training Programs.
