Now’s the Time to Add SINs—and Drop the Wrong Ones

Recent Executive Orders (EOs) are reshaping how the federal government buys—and what it will no longer tolerate in contracts. Most notably, EO 14240 mandates the consolidation of domestic procurement under the General Services Administration (GSA), giving the agency sweeping authority to manage common goods and services government-wide.

What Does This Mean for You?

GSA is rapidly taking over management of a much larger share of government contracts. If you’re not yet on a GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS), now is the time to get on one. And if you already hold a schedule, you need to review and update your Special Item Numbers (SINs) to ensure you’re maximizing your ability to compete—and staying compliant. GSA has already eliminated 31 SINs, and new EOs are rendering contracts with certain language, including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) terms, noncompliant.

The landscape is shifting fast. Don’t risk falling behind. Contact OST today to ensure your schedule, language, and strategy align with the latest rules—and position your business to win in this new environment.

Are You Compliant? Are You Optimized?

At OST Global Solutions, we’re helping our clients:

  • Review GSA contracts to ensure compliance with the latest EOs, including the removal of DEI or “non-essential” language flagged for elimination.
  • Add or update Special Item Numbers (SINs) to align with what GSA is prioritizing—and eliminate those GSA is phasing out.
  • Add or update labor categories, service offerings, or product lines to reflect what buyers are actively procuring.
  • Prepare new or refreshed GSA schedule proposals to enter or re-enter the market stronger.
  • Build BD pipelines that reflect where the market is actually moving, not where it used to be.

These aren’t optional tune-ups. This is survival mode for smart federal contractors who want to stay relevant, win more, and avoid noncompliance pitfalls.
