The Department of Defense Enterprise Software Initiative (DoD ESI) recently released a Request for Information (RFI) for its upcoming Microsoft Unified Support (MUS) and Engineering Services in Support of Microsoft Products and Cloud Services. The purpose of this contract is to provide the DoD with Microsoft Unified Support (MUS) and additional Engineering Support (ES) for Microsoft products and cloud services. These services will be available to the DoD, Intelligence Community, and U.S. Coast Guard.
Contract Highlights:
This Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract is consolidating two contract vehicles:
- DoD ESI Microsoft Enterprise Services (MES) contract, which expires on 10 January 2024 (ceiling value of nearly $1.8 billion)
- Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Microsoft Enterprise Technical Support Services II (METTS II) contract which expires on 20 December 2023 (ceiling value of nearly $2.2 billion).
The contract’s duration is projected to span ten years, encompassing a five-year base period with an additional five-year option period.
Scope of Work
The requirement is to provide MUS and ES tasks. MUS tasks offer a comprehensive 24×7 support solution, enhanced productivity, and technology throughout the IT lifecycle using tools and knowledge bases, service delivery management, problem resolution assistance from product developers, and resources with direct access rights to developers of Microsoft proprietary products and source code. ES tasks provide access to software developers and product and cloud engineering teams to support the DoD’s migration to the cloud and to enable constantly evolving security and productivity features using Microsoft technologies.
Potential areas of focus include Cybersecurity Services, IT Services, Business Process Reengineering, Enterprise Design, Integration, Consolidation, Network/Systems Operation and Maintenance, and more.
