The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is gearing up to launch SEWP VI, the latest iteration of its highly successful Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) contract vehicle.
SEWP V is the largest GWAC in the federal government by spending, with every federal agency utilizing its services. As of September 2022, SEWP V has awarded more than 200,000 individual task orders, totaling over $50 Billion in obligations. This trend shows no signs of slowing down as SEWP VI is projected to be bigger.
There were 212 bidders winning contracts under SEWP V with all but one winning at least one Task Order award. NASA does not plan to limit the number of SWEP VI awardees at the GWAC level.
While SEWP is often seen as a product contract, NASA procured a substantial amount of IT services through SEWP V. NASA has emphasized the importance of services at recent SWEP VI Reverse Industry Day presentations, so expect an increased focus on IT services for this contract.
SEWP VI will cover a wide range of products and services, including:
- Information Technology and Networking
Computer hardware, tablets, network appliances (routers, modems, VOIP), storage, security - Software and Cloud
Software, virtualization, and Cloud Computing, XaaS (e.g., SaaS = Storage as a Service) - Mobility and Communications
