Scope of Work

CCN Next Gen aims to provide a comprehensive network of healthcare services for veterans. This includes managing a wide array of care aspects—medical, surgical, pharmacy, and dental services, as well as durable medical equipment. Contractors will act as third-party administrators, ensuring veterans have access to high-quality care through an extensive network of licensed healthcare providers and practitioners, while also handling claims processing and maintaining enrollment and eligibility information. They will be responsible for enhancing the veteran healthcare experience through efficient service delivery and satisfaction, leveraging data and performance metrics to continually improve service quality.

Preparing for CCN Next Gen

The VHA held an industry day in November, and those slides as well as an amended Request for Information (RFI) can be found on SAM.gov here. At the industry day, the VHA shared insights on the future structuring of the CCN into multiple domains to address the comprehensive healthcare needs of Veterans. Key points from the presentation include:

  • The VA is contemplating organizing specific Integrated Veteran Care capabilities into separate domains to improve service delivery.
  • These domains may include services at both national and regional levels, like integrated services, dental, pharmacy, and Veteran Family Member Program (VFMP) claims processing.
  • The VA seeks to establish Memorandums of Understanding within each contract to ensure effective collaboration between domain contractors.
  • The VA is considering proposals from organizations capable of managing tasks across these domains, with a focus on enhancing quality, efficiency, and Veteran satisfaction.

The next steps in procurement include finalizing the RFP based on industry feedback and releasing the updated procurement timeline by the end of FY24 Q1.
