The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will hold a “Reverse Industry Day” on November 15, 2022, in Falls Church, Virginia, to solicit feedback from the industry and discuss changes and major points of emphasis for its Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement VI (SEWP VI), an advanced IT hardware and software contract valued at more than $20 billion.
The SEWP Program Management Office (PMO) will be on-hand at the event to discuss NASA’s latest plans for SEWP, a multiple award, Government-wide-acquisition contract. The agency is in the market research phase of recompeting its current SEWP V contracts, which are set to expire on April 30, 2025. SEWP V is a designated best-in-class (BIC) contract, and the follow-on contract will likely also be designated as a BIC contract.
NASA’s SEWP contracts were the most heavily used BICs in fiscal 2021, and small businesses accounted for 82% of SEWP V spending, according to Bloomberg. SEWP VI is likely to continue to be a major vehicle for small businesses offering IT solutions.
NASA will hold a second similar event in February 2023 for West Coast participants.
The SEWP PMO will be offering an overview of SEWP VI, including:
- Contract Type(s)
- Small Business Participation
- Scope of Technology Products, Solutions, and Services
- Overall Structure
- Business Capabilities
- Timeline and more
The SEWP PMO will offer a limited number of one-on-one sessions with SEWP VI Initiative representatives for contractors to offer their ideas to the SEWP PMO. Questions can be submitted ahead of the event, and registration is required. For more information, visit the NASA SEWP VI website or see the agency’s announcement about the event.
